UXBRIDGE, ONTARIO – In a heart-pounding showdown that had fans on the edge of their seats, the North Durham Warriors U10A team secured their second consecutive preseason victory in as many days against Ajax Pickering.  The game, which took place on September 17th in Uxbridge, showcased raw talent, strong teamwork, and determination as the North Durham Warriors triumphed with a final score of 6-3.  For fans in the stands, this game was bussin'.

The opening minutes of the game set the tone for the North Durham Warriors' exceptional performance, with Kyley Swain igniting the scoreboard with a lightning-quick snap shot from in close. Malik Elgamal provided the assist, demonstrating strong coordination between the team's offensive and defensive corps.

Nathan Pleshe wasted no time in adding to the excitement, delivering a powerful one-timer that left the Ajax-Pickering defense and goalie scrambling. Swain picked up an assist by capitalizing on an open passing lane between he and Pleshe.

The U10A's continued their offensive onslaught when William Low went top shelf where momma-keeps-the-peanut-butter and sent the crowed into a tizzy. Zack Dawson picked up his 2nd assist of the weekend after calmly and purposeful feeding Low the puck in the neutral zone. Dawson has routinely shown shades of Chris Pronger out on the ice.

At the end of the 1st, the U10's held a 3-0 lead, as Max Shelswell stood on his head for the first half of the game, making numerous acrobatic saves on the Ajax-Pickering shooters.

As the game progressed into the 2nd period, Benny McEvoy expertly jammed home a loose puck that popped up after a breakaway attempt by his linemate, Low. The team's fourth goal seemed to act like an alarm clock, waking up the Ajax-Pickering team and setting off a relentless wave of opportunities for Ajax-Pickering throughout the remainder of the 2nd period.

Willem Adamkowski stepped into the pipes half way through the 2nd to take over goaltending duties as the squad and fans applauded Shelswell's energy and enthusiasm.  Adamkowski's efforts made sure that North Durham's lead was never truly at risk, making save after save.  Willem was the team's best penalty killer when the team was short handed when Nathan Pleshe picked up 2 minutes for tripping late in the 2nd.

At the end of two, the lead was narrowed to 4-3, setting the stage for a nail biting 3rd period.

In the 3rd, William Low wasn't content with just one goal in this contest. He struck again, unassisted with a wrist shot that found the back of the net through the five-hole, securing his second goal of the game and marking his sixth of the preseason.

The squad saved the best for last, as Omar Schurter unleashed a blistering wrist shot that found its way into a yawning cage, leaving the Ajax-Pickering goalie with no chance to respond. Omar picked up a perfect pass from Nathan Pleshe and hummed it in, showcasing the Warriors' ability to create scoring opportunities in any scenario.

After having an exceptional game, Cameron Martin received the player of the game award thanks to his grit and determination at both ends of the ice.  Cam made a string of strong defensive plays to thwart the attack of Ajax-Pickering including one sweep check that interrupted what would have been a exceptional scoring opportunity for the opposition. His feet did not stop moving, his effort did not dip, and he helped control the play with his soft hands when on the ice.

This exhilarating victory serves as a testament to the North Durham Warriors' commitment to excellence, teamwork, and their dedication to practice and preparation. Strong two way play by Holden Geldart, Easton Carpentier up front and great work by our defencemen in this one, Zack Dawson, James Griffith, Liam Beggs, Callum O'Connor, and Malik Elgamal.

With two preseason wins under their belt, the North Durham Warriors U10A team is primed for an exciting and promising season ahead. Fans are eagerly anticipating their next matchup as the team continues to build upon their successes and chase their championship dreams.

The North Durham Warriors U10A team's victory against Ajax Pickering is a clear indicator that this season holds great promise, and fans can expect to witness more thrilling performances from this talented group of young athletes.
