North Durham Warriors U15A Capture Silver in Montreal; Set Sights on Peterborough

MONTREAL, QC – The North Durham Warriors U15A hockey team delivered a standout performance at the Canadian Cup tournament in Montreal this past weekend, returning home with silver medals and a lifetime of memories.
The Warriors established themselves as top contenders early in the event, finishing the round-robin stage with a dominant 3–1 record. Their relentless play earned them a spot in the gold medal championship game against the Osgoode Richmond Romans. While the Romans ultimately secured the gold, the Warriors battled through every shift, cementing their status as one of the tournament's elite teams with a well-earned Silver Medal.
Building a Brotherhood
The weekend was about more than just the final scores. This group of players displayed exceptional character throughout the trip, creating a bond that will last far beyond the final buzzer. The tournament provided a unique opportunity for the team to experience the culture of Montreal while solidifying their identity as a resilient and cohesive unit.
"This was a great tournament and the boys created memories that they will never forget," noted the team staff.
Momentum Shifts to Peterborough
The Warriors won't have much time to rest, as they look to carry this significant momentum into their next major challenge. The team is set to travel to Peterborough for the Melanie Clancy Memorial Tournament, running from January 30 to February 1, 2026.
The tournament, a celebration of community and sportsmanship, honors the legacy of Melanie Clancy and her impact on the hockey community. With the experience gained in Montreal and a silver medal in hand, the U15A Warriors are ready to take the ice once again and continue their success.
