The regular season has come to a close for the North Durham Blades U11 B, and what a season it has been!
The team finished 6th in the East loop with a record of 6 wins, 11 losses, and 3 ties. While the standings show their results, they don’t fully capture the incredible growth and development these girls have shown since the start of the season. From improved puck movement and stronger defensive play to growing confidence in every zone, the progress has been exciting to watch.
There have been some unforgettable moments along the way including thrilling matchups, dramatic last-minute goals, and even a few dying-second finishes that kept everyone on the edge of their seats. Through every challenge, this group has continued to battle, support one another, and grow as a team.
Now the next chapter begins.
Starting this week, the Blades head into both playoffs and playdowns. In regional playdowns, they will face Durham West Lightning and Oshawa Lady Generals in a competitive matchup. A home-and-home series against each team will take place over the next three weeks, with the two winningest teams advancing to the provincial tournament in April. It promises to be high energy, hard fought hockey.
At the same time, playoffs are kicking off with a two game (possibly three game) series against West Northumberland Wild. This will be a race to four points, with the winner moving on to the next round. Every shift, every puck battle, and every opportunity will matter.
The North Durham Blades U11 B are ready to showcase all the hard work they’ve put in this season. The growth is real, the confidence is building, and the team is excited for the challenge ahead. Let’s go Blades!
