The First Shift (North Durham Minor Hockey)

The First Shift kicks off with our Welcome Event on Saturday, January 17 at 1:00 pm!  Here you will be sized for and pick up all of your equipment!  The Welcome Even will be held at Scugog Arena, 1655 Reach St, Port Perry, ON L9L 0A2 in meeting rooms 2 and 3. The on-ice sessions begin Saturday, January 31 at 11:45 pm at Uxbridge Arena, 291 Brock St W, Uxbridge, ON L9P 1G1. We are looking forward to seeing everyone!

Do you know of a young person between the ages of 6 & 10 that has never played our great game of hockey and might be interested in trying the sport?   Introducing the NHL/NHLPA FIRST SHIFT.   Designed to help your child fall in love with hockey before you buy all the gear, our six-week learn to play program focuses on having fun while learning basic skills.  Equipment is included with registration, which is only $299. Registration for our Winter 2026 Session Open June 2 at 12:00 pm!  Register early as the program sells out VERY quickly!

North Durham MHA is thrilled to announce we have been selected to host THE NHL/NHLPA FIRST SHIFT PROGRAM again!   Our program will begin on February 8, 2024 with out Welcome Event!  All skaters must attend this event to be sized for their equipment.  The on-ice sessions will begin approximately 2 weeks later and be held on Saturdays.
