Updated Scugog Arena Guidelines
Submitted By Tina Dawson on Friday, October 15, 2021
With the Province’s announcement on Friday, October 8th lifting capacity limits of spectator in facilities for sports and recreational fitness, the Township of Scugog will be implementing the following changes at the Scugog Arena effective Friday, October 15, 2021:

Here is the link to the Scugog Screening:  https://frm-cvd-ca.esolg.ca/Scugog/Scugog-Screening-Form

  • Scugog Arena spectator areas increase to 100% capacity
  • No changes to the player/skater limits on ice
  • The arena main doors will be unlocked
  • Access to dressing rooms permitted only 30 minutes before and all players to exit 30 minutes after rental
    • Showers permitted
  • No lobby access (will be strictly enforced)– spectators and players/skaters encouraged to enter the facility no more than 30 minutes prior to rental
  • Dedicated staff remain at the main entrance to the facility (Pad 1, Pad 2 and Recreation programs all enter the main entrance)
  • All spectators and players/skaters to use the Township contact tracing and screening app
    • Masks must be worn
    • Use hand sanitizer
    • Maintain 2m / 6ft physical distance
  • Staff to check proof of vaccination, contact tracing and screening prior to entry to the facility

We are asking all users groups to assist the Township to communicate to your players/skaters and parents that with the easing of rules at the Scugog Arena, health measures must be adhered to within the facility, including wearing masks and physically distancing when in the spectator area.  Township staff will be enforcing the “No Lobby Access” strictly as to limit the gathering areas in the facility.  It would be helpful if your communication includes reminders of the protocols and health measures to your members.

The health and safety of our community is always a priority for the Township and the changes above will be monitored to make sure those you enter the Scugog Arena continue to be safe, therefore, if at any time, staff find that with the new changes the facility becomes unsafe for patrons, the Township will reimpose stricter COVID protocols.
