AMALGAMATION VOTE RESULTS FOR 2017-18 SEASON, News (North Durham Minor Hockey)

On Wednesday, April 13, 2016, the Port Perry Minor Hockey Association held their Annual General Meeting at Scugog Arena. Included in the meeting was an Amalgamation Vote with the Uxbridge Minor Hockey Association.

Results of the Amalgamation Vote:

Total Votes - 182
Spoiled Votes - 2
Total Votes For - 127
Total Votes For Percentage - 70.5%
Total Votes Against - 53
Total Votes Against Percentage - 29.4%

Therefore, the results above achieve the 2/3 majority in favor of Amalgamation. The Port Perry Minor Hockey Association would like to thank all attendees for participating and casting their vote.

On Sunday, April 17, 2016 the Uxbridge Minor Hockey Association will be holding their Annual General Meeting & Amalgamation Vote. The AGM starts at 7:00 p.m. at the Uxbridge Community Centre.

Results of the Uxbridge Minor Hockey Association vote were as follows: Yes - 105 No - 38 There were 143 ballots cast with no spoiled votes.  The requirement to pass the motion is a two thirds majority, and the results were 73.5 percent in favour, so the motion is passed.   Pending OMHA approval, the two centres will amalgamate for the 2017-2018 hockey season.
